Jillian Hrzic is a current Junior dance major at George Mason University focusing in Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, and Jazz dance styles. Jillian trained in all styles of dance at Andreas School of Dance in Bellwood Pennsylvania from the ages of two to eleven. From there, Jillian studied at The Grier School under the direction of Jocelyn Hrzic and Danielle Bower, from seventh grade through senior year training in all techniques. Along with training, she also performed works by Robert Battle, Martha Graham, Darrell Grand Moultrie, Ronen Koresh, Jason McDole, Keisha Llalama, Christopher Huggins, Norbert De La Cruz III, and Mike Esperanza. These works were performed at events such as the National High School Dance Festival, Regional High School Dance Festival, Peridance Showcase, and Koresh Artist Showcase. At George Mason, Jillian has trained under the direction of Susan Shields while also receiving training from professors such as Lawrence Jackson, Christina Robson, Karen Reedy, Shaun Boyle D’arcy, and Christoper D’amboise. Jillian has performed since freshman year in a multitude of student pieces as well as in the Gala performance in Andrea Miller’s “SAMA”. Jillian has taught at Grier Summer dance intensive and studios throughout Altoona, Pennsylvania and brings an eager and hopeful energy to teaching the next generations of dance. Jillian will be teaching beginning tap, jazz and contemporary for 9-12 year olds.
