Mrs. Donovan took her first ballet class at the age of 3 and hasn’t stopped dancing since. She studied education in college and took ballet classes with a local studio and company in her free time. She first started teaching ballet in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2012. In 2015 she got married and moved to Virginia. Soon after moving here, she began teaching ballet in the metro DC area. She’s taught ballet to the littlest of ballerinas (2.5 years old) up to those en pointe and heading off to college. She’s excited to start teaching at Center Stage and to meet all of the wonderful dancers here. In her own words:
What I Expect in Class
I expect you to respect yourself, your classmates, and your teachers. I expect you to arrive to class on time. If for some reason you arrive late to class, please wait for the music to end and enter class quietly. Ballet class is not the place to have conversations and catch up, that can be done before or after class. Ballet class is where you learn to better yourself through hard work, dedication to the art, and diligence. I also expect you to follow the dress code – this shows that you care and that you are prepared for class.
